Everything started with the question: “Is it possible to establish a globally accessible network related to the guitar?” With this question in mind, we embarked on an initiative, feeling a sense of responsibility to create a platform where anyone could access all kinds of information about the instrument. Our initiative brought together music researchers and academics from the field of education with experts in communication and technology—mainly representing Türkiye’s academic guitar scene—uniting around a shared passion for the guitar.

In 2020, we began our work under the umbrella of the International Guitar Platform. After numerous meetings and exchanges of ideas with over 200 guitarists, academics, education administrators, and enthusiasts, we transitioned into a civil society organization to sustain and expand our collaborative work. This led to the establishment of the Innovative Guitar Projects Association in 2023, under which we continue our activities today.

We envisioned our association as an inclusive space open to anyone interested in the guitar. Our goal is to build a network with the support of all guitar enthusiasts who connect with us, providing a space where quality information and innovations can be quickly shared, without the constraints of time or location. With this objective, we offer not only traditional community-building efforts but also a digital network enriched with guitar-related content and technology-supported services adapted to the evolving world.

Through this association, we aim to bring together and connect all contributors and collaborators in the field of guitar. We welcome the participation of volunteers, educators, institutions, and both amateur and professional musicians from around the world who are committed to fostering the global guitar community. By contributing to the Innovative Guitar Projects Association, you help build a unified global guitar community and connect performance with education—strengthening our mission both in Türkiye and beyond.
